Volunteering

We rescue and re-home abandoned and unwanted cats in the Peterborough area. The branch is run entirely by volunteers who are dedicated to improving the lives of cats and kittens in our area. If you think you can help please do get in touch, below are some of the positions we would really like fill:

Fosterers
Do you love cats but don't want a permanent resident? Short and long term foster homes are always required for cats and kittens. Most cats and kittens that come to us are strays or have been abandoned. They are often unwell and fosterers should feel confident of being able to care for a poorly cat or kitten and able to decide when they need to visit the vet. Please visit our feature page on fostering for us for further information.

F
undraising helpers
We are looking for friendly people who are willing to give us a few hours a month to man our tombolas, craft fairs, fete stalls and other fundraising events.

We would love to hear from you if you are interested in helping us.  We are moving towards offering an online application process. Where available you can complete a form below if you wish or please give us a call on 0345 371 2750 or email us at enquiries@peterborough.cats.org.uk

Fosterer volunteer

Across the UK, many cats are cared for by volunteer fosterers who provide a stable, safe and loving environment in their homes or in purpose-built pens in their gardens. They provide vital hands-on care and accommodation to stray or abandoned cats or cats whose owners could sadly no longer keep them, and are part of a dedicated team of volunteers committed to finding new homes for cats in need. Our fosterers carry out this role with support from their local branch or centre. Most of our fosterers care for one or two cats at a time and enjoy providing lots of TLC to those cats, who have been pre-loved or have had a difficult start in life. Some of our fosterers look after new mums and kittens and provide round-the-clock care to newborns to give them the best start in life.

Fundraising volunteer

As a charity we rely on funds donated by generous members of the public to continue to help cats and kittens in need. Our fundraising volunteers are part of a passionate team that help raise funds to help our feline friends in need. They help plan and deliver exciting and varied fundraising events, which can be anything from craft fairs, cake sales, sponsored abseils and anything in between!
