Exeter Branch was founded in 1979 at a public meeting organised by head office.

From that modest beginning, when we had virtually no money and only one small shed in a volunteer’s garden, the branch has grown into a vibrant, well organised branch, based on sound finances, numerous purpose built catteries and underpinned by regular and profitable fund raising. For nearly 40 years Exeter Branch rescued and rehomed thousands of cats and kittens. A couple of years ago the Branch decided to have a more pro-active role in the region and concentrate on preventing unwanted cats & litters of kittens by putting all our energies into financially supported neutering. We have Axhayes Adoption Centre on our doorstep, so cats in need of new homes are never neglected.  Over the past 3 years we have helped financially support the neutering of over 1200 cats & kittens per year.  Please see our Features page for more details on neutering or call 01392 276291 for financial help with neutering your cat.

All this comes at a cost and we the Branch relies solely on the generous support of donations and monies raised from our fundraising events.
