Fundraising Coffee Evening
04 July 2014
Gaynor Buxton (featured on the right in the photo, with Ann) kindly hosted a coffee evening on 26th March to raise money for our Adoption Centre in Wrexham!
Sixteen attendants, including Cats Protection volunteers Linda Mead and Sue Graham, managed to raise £122 through buying bric-a-brac and raffle tickets whilst enjoying coffee and cake!
We are so grateful for this donation, thank you ladies!
Here is a poem written by Gaynor about the evening...
My house in Caego was the place to be
on a Wednesday in March, friends paid a £2 fee.
Coffee and cake was the order of the day.
Forget the diet - eat and pay!
Living room packed to the brim with jumble -
It's for a good cause so shouldn't grumble.
Pictures, ornaments, books and CDs
to raise money for Cats Protection, if you please.
One hundred and twenty two pounds the sum.
I thanked everyone, glad they could come.
Ten o'clock came and friends all must leave.
Isn't it surprising what you can achieve!
