In memory of Teddy
We had to end Teddy's suffering on 2 Feb 2026. We took him on when his owner abandoned him and he blessed us with his company for just over 4 years. He had various health problems: chronic kidney disease, things related to chronic calicivirus and he was arthritic. In Sept 2024 he had to have one eye removed, then the other one some months later. He adapted very well to blindness, moving slowly from his base in my home office to the sofa - he seemed to be able to count the stairs. In the end he developed serious breathing difficulties that did not respond to treatment and scans showed a heart problem so surgical intervention was too risky. It was so distressing to see and we had no choice but to end it for him. He was such a special calm, loving boy and my heart is broken. He will have a place in it forever....Sleep tight, Teddy Boy.
