In memory of Fred

Lost our wonderful boy Fred suddenly on 27th March 2027. Fred came to us on 1st July 2024 as a stray that we subsequently worked out had been sheltering and/or living under our summerhouse/shed. On this day he approached me with a loud meow as I was taking some food for our fox at the top of the garden. This little black cat was very thin, dirty and covered in fleas and ticks he needed to be taken care of. From that moment he was fed, watered and treated eventually taken to the vets to check if he was chipped and for a check up. Fred was not chipped and we knew then that he could be ours. After about a couple of months Fred decided that he was ready to move in and make our home his own. Fred was an absolute delight - chatty, gentle, playful and very loving and affectionate. So loving and so loved in return. His very sudden and traumatic loss from heart failure has left a gaping hole in our home and lives. As my constant companion I feel at a complete loss and the grief is surprisingly tough to deal with. We will be forever grateful that he found and chose us, made us his family and our home his own. Fred - you will always have a piece of my heart. Gone too soon my darling boy, rest easy and hope someday we'll meet again. xxx Thank you to Cats Protection for this memorial space and allowing us bereaved cat "parents" to remember the special beings that have blessed our lives.
