In memory of Jasper
I adopted Jasper Doodles from Belfast cats protection back in 2011. He was originally called Laddie. He quickly became my soul cat and would jump up on my shoulders if I was busy and he felt like he wasn't getting enough attention. He followed me everywhere and loved to meow back when I talked to him. We had great conversations, though we didn't necessarily speak the same language. He was always nervous of strangers from whatever happened to him before I rescued him. But if he trusted you, he loved you with every part of his little heart and was surgically attached to your lap. He even slept under the duvet like the pampered prince he was. Dogs were scared of him and he saved his sister when a neighbours dog broke into our garden and tried to attack her. So despite his nerves of people, he was a very brave cat. Jasper was diagnosed with cancer in 2025. He had other health niggles by then, so i treated him palliatively through my vet. He went to the bridge in January 2026 with me by his side. He left knowing how much he was loved and life has never been the same since. His sister is also grieving and seems to have aged overnight and eats terribly. We just miss him. But we were so blessed to have had him in our lives and I will never regret adopting him. We love you Jasper Doodles and always will xx
