In memory of Pippa
In memory of Pippa I had to let my beautiful girl go on 6 November 2025 - she was my world and I cannot comprehend that I have been without her for a whole year. She had been diagnosed with CHF in the March and the vet had told me that 6 months is the average time for a cat to live with it, although he had another cat under his care who was still going strong after a year. As she had lived with hyperthyroidism for seven years and arthritis for almost as long, I thought that she would be able to fight it once she started the medication – I couldn’t bring myself to think that I would lose her I suppose. She was eighteen and had graced my life for sixteen of those years. She loved lik e lix with a passion, diving under newspaper ‘tents’, hiding in cardboard boxes, lying in the sun and in front of halogen heaters, other cats and when she was younger and could jump, wandering the neighbourhood for hours. Never a lap cat, she none the less loved being stroked and was the most intelligent cat I have ever known. She put up with endless house moves with me – never once complaining but just took it all in her stride. I miss all the things she used to do – singing in the night wandering around with her catnip toy, the little noises that she made when she was cleaning herself, walking sideways with her back arched just before she zoomed off during a mad half hour or endlessly getting stuck in places that she then couldn’t get herself out of. She was my soul cat, my best friend and my constant companion. I only ever put her in a cattery once for a few days due to a difficult situation in my life and she clung to me when I went to pick her up – it broke my heart as I think she thought that I had abandoned her. Thank you for choosing me Pippa. I love you so much and I am so sorry for all the times that I let you down. I know that you are having great fun over the rainbow bridge, health restored and with lots of cat friends. Until we meet again my baby girl. All my love. xx
