About Calinda and Eliana

Cute Calinda and awesome Eliana sadly found their way into our care after being rescued from a large, neglectful, multi-cat household situation. The mother and daughter pair were unfortunately found to have quite advanced and progressive tumours in their ears which they have both had to undergo total ear canal ablation surgery to resolve. Both Calinda and Eliana have had one ear operated on each at this stage. However Eliana still requires the same surgery on her other ear. Both cats have been absolute stars throughout their ordeal and have been purring and kneading their way through their post-operative care. Calinda and Eliana really are two big characters with their bat-like ears and their super personalities to match. They have become a real hit with both staff and volunteers alike here at the Belfast Adoption Centre and we have no doubt they will make fantastic companion cats for some lucky adopter out there in time.

Cat Name

Barbara - 14 Jul 2021

Beautiful Barbara came into our care with her fantastic kittens Banana, Bonnie, Belinda and Barnaby who are now four weeks old. Barbara is a friendly, affectionate cat but can be a little shy with those she doesn't know. Barbara is a wonderful mum and spends a lot of time caring for her playful litter. Barbara can be homed with other cats and children within the household, but has never lived with dogs before.

Cat Name

Camilla and Charles - 11 Jun 2021

Cute Camilla and cheerful Charles are a mum and son who are being looked after by Sarah, one of Warrington Adoption Centre's amazing fosters. Not much is known about Camilla’s history as she was found as a stray. She is a very shy little girl. Camilla has had a rough start before coming into care. Sadly, when Camilla was found she had several kittens with her that had passed away and one that was still alive who we have called Charles. Camilla needed surgery to treat a prolapsed uterus but is recovering well. Charles, what a little fighter he is! Camilla is still wary, she is doing a great job at being a mum and Charles is growing and getting lots of fuss from Sarah’s daughters.

Cat Name

Saffy - 20 May 2021

Super Saffy is a beautiful mature lady, who's owner sadly passed away. A family member then took Saffy to their home to start a new life but sadly Saffy really didn't want to live with the families dog and refused to come back into the house from the garden. They made the decision to give Saffy to Cats Protection as they knew we would find Saffy the best forever home. Saffy is blind but that doesn't stop this golden oldy! Saffy is a very affectionate, friendly and confident and vocal lady. She loves human company and a good scratch behind the ears. Saffy doesn’t let her disability get in the way of doing the things she wants to do. Saffy usually spends most of her time chilling in her carrier but as soon as someone comes to the pen door she will come out to greet them, enjoying a fuss and looking for her next meal!

Cat Name

Dulcie - 22 Jun 2021

Delightful Dulcie sadly found her way into our care when her owner passed away, which then led to a chain of events for poor Dulcie. Her previous owners family let her out of the property she lived in as she was being very aggressive. Dulcie then strayed for some time before becoming pregnant and giving birth to five kittens! When Dulcie's kittens were about four weeks old she was helped by a kind member of the public who managed to get her to an independent vet who found the kittens had worms but were sociable. Dulcie at this time was sadly defensive, emaciated, exhausted and needing help. Once the family of her previous owner was contacted via her microchip details they gave permission for Dulcie and her kittens to be rehomed. A kind foster family helped Dulcie and once the kittens were weaned and forever homes found for each of them Dulcie was transferred into the care of the National Cat Adoption Centre. Once in our care we have been able to spay Dulcie which has helped with her aggression and anxiety. She is now on a behavioural plan set by our Behaviour team at Cats Protection which is helping Dulcie so much that she is becoming friendly and affectionate but still very much on her own terms.

Cat Name

Fuzz - 15 Apr 2021

Fantastic Fuzz was a long term stray from the Falkirk area. When she arrived at the Centre in the late afternoon of the 22 March, it became obvious she was VERY pregnant and we expected her to give birth any day. Less than 48 hours later she gave birth to three black and white kittens, Orca, Osprey and Panda. Sadly Orca passed away within the first 24 hours, we are unsure why. The vet checked over Mum and the remaining two kittens and she found they were healthy and doing well. Since their birth Fuzz is a fantastic mum and Osprey (female) and Panda (Male) are thriving and beginning to open their eyes. Fuzz is a very sweet natured cat but it will take time for her to fully trust the humans around her. Fuzz is beginning to bond with her care team and every day becomes more confident in her surrounding but what Fuzz enjoys the most is snoozing with her two beautiful kittens.

Simon's Cat supports Cats Protection Sponsorship

In celebration of our special relationship, Cats Protection has teamed up with Simon’s Cat! They love our cat sponsorship scheme so much that they have decided to support all of our Cat Sponsorship pens by giving them a Simon's Cat style makeover. Cats Protection is delighted to work with Simon’s Cat and we thank them for their support.

Who is Simon's Cat?

Simon’s Cat is a loveable, charming, yet mischievous cat that lives with his long suffering owner – Simon. Simon’s Cat made his first appearance online, in a film called Cat Man Do in 2008, made by animator and illustrator, Simon Tofield. Since then this well-known feline has appeared in over 100 short films, books, games and comic strips to name a few.

Q:Will I help just one cat? A:No, you 'll help lots! As a Cats Protection Sponsor you'll sponsor a pen at one of our adoption centres. So whenever we rehome a cat that's being cared for in your pen, we will update you and tell you about their new forever home.

Then a new cat in need will take their place and we will introduce you to that cat as well. Over time you will be able to help cat after cat, and you will also be able to look back at all the cats you have sponsored in your personal sponsor area.
