In memory of Mr Patch

To our most handsome boy Mr Patch. You will never know the role you played in our lives, at the end of every dark day you were our glimmer of light, a distraction from all the upset we currently have and now your gone. It doesn’t seem fair. You had the biggest character and had us laughing none stop with your array of meow’s. You had us laughing at ourselves with the songs we interpreted your name into - ‘Patchy, Patchy poooo, Patchy, we love youuuu’ (Daddy cool) people must have thought we were mad when they heard us. But we didn’t care, you were our baby and we loved you with every inch of our beings.  I’m finding it hard to come to terms with losing you, we took you to the vets with a suspected nasty abscess which turned out to be a tumour, they would have had to remove part of your jaw for testing and said it would be very invasive and have a detrimental effect on your quality of life, I didn’t want you to be put through that or experience any more pain/ stress, so we had to take the decision to put you to sleep. I rubbed your belly, in between your eyes just where you liked it and sang our song to you, I gave you lots of cheek kisses, knelt down so you could see into my eyes and wished you sweet dreams. My sweet boy I will miss you every single day, thank you for getting us this far, although our time together wasn’t that long (22 months - technically 17 as you did hide under the kitchen cupboards for 5 months when you first arrived, only appearing at night when no one else was around & we had to watch you on cat cam!) you have been the best little boy to us. In your honour we promise to give as many kitty’s as possible a loving home throughout our life, no one will ever replace you, you were one of a kind, but as we helped you we promise to help others too. Patchy, Patchy poooo, Patchy, we love you - always xxxxx
