In memory of Mabel

We lost our sweet Mabel on February 21, 2024 to kidney cancer. The best family cat, Mabel was clever, beautiful, and packed with tortietude, bringing us so much joy. She loved our three children, and was a chirpy chatter box with a penchant for tuna. We will miss her very much. We adopted her from a brilliant Cats Protection Volunteer, Angela, in Tilehurst, Reading, in 2013 when she was a tiny kitten, along with her gorgeous sister, Pixie, another calico girl - both named Wilma and Betty as kittens! They were in a litter with two black and white male kittens, and a black male kitten (Barney, Fred, and Dino). We moved to Devon in 2017 and settled into a quieter neighbourhood, and welcomed two children whom Mabel took to with delighted foot nuzzles and cosy sofa snuggles. Sadly Pixie became unhappy and began to fight with her sister, distressing Mabel. Despite our best efforts to keep everyone separated and safe, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to ask cats protection to find Pixie a quieter home with no other cats and children. We heard she was adopted and was very happy being top cat. We would love to hear how she is getting on, or any other litter mates.
