Adoption, Neutering & Microchipping
Gloucester & Cirencester Cats Protection carries out the following to all our cats and kittens
One of the most important aims of Gloucester & Cirencester Cats Protection is to find long lasting, appropriate homes for the cats that have come into our care.
On this page you can see all the cats and kittens that are currently require a new home. Please click on the cat to see more information about them and any special needs they may have.
For information on neutering and microchipping, please click on the links in the menu to the left.
The Gloucester & Cirencester branch of Cats Protection rescues and rehomes cats and kittens within Gloucester and Cirencester areas (postcodes GL1, GL2, GL3, GL4, GL7, & GL19). We have seen over the last few years that the cat population is increasing and this brings with it an increase in the number of cats and kittens needing our help.
To help control this we only help cats and kittens in our area and believe us there are enough kitties in Gloucester to keep us busy! Each branch of Cats Protection has its own area from which it rescues unwanted cats. However, we are not restricted with re-homing and we will support other branches with home visits to find a cat or kitten the purrrrfect home.
If you are considering adoption from another source, please make sure you adopt your cat or kitten from a reputable place, so that you can be reassured that he or she is in first class health.
We also follow the charity standards when it comes to our cat care. For example, only cats that have come from the same place are fostered together, thus eliminating any spread of disease at a time that can be really stressful for them.
We also only foster cats singly or in pairs, or a mother with her kittens in each foster space. This enables them to have lots of space which again will help them settle in quicker.
- Health check by a qualified vet.
- All cats are blood tested for FIV and FELV except younfg kittens which we are unfortunately unable to test.
- Neutering when old enough.
- The first vaccination.
- The second vaccination
- Worming and de-fleaing.
There is an adoption fee of £70 which helps us to cover the cost of caring for the cats whilst with us.
We will carry out a home visit before the adoption and a follow-up visit a few weeks after to provide any further assistance that you may require. Working Cats
- Do you have a mouse or rat problem? We are always looking for farms, stables or business premises where we can place cats who do not want to be domestic pets but like to do their own things and catch vermin. You must provide a dry place for the Cat to sleep and some food and water on a daily basis.
There are currently no cats available here.
Some of the cats in our care may not yet be on our website. If you are looking for a feline companion, please contact us on 0345 260 3280
