Adopt a cat
Welcome to our Adopt A Cat page. All cats currently available for rehoming can be found here.
All potential owners are required to have a ‘Home Visit’ by a specially trained branch volunteer. This is to ensure that we match the right cat with the right owner, their family and their lifestyle. Once this has been approved we can offer help and advice whilst your new cat settles in with you. After a while we carry out a follow up visit just to make sure that everyone is happy.
All Cats Protection cats receive the following before they are available for rehoming
- A full veterinary health check on arrival in the Branch and any treatment and follow up visits needed.
- A thorough worming and de-fleaing.
- All their vaccinations.
- Neutered if old enough. If not then new owners sign to say they promise to get the kitten neutered by the recommended date of neutering on the adoption form.
Most cats that come into our care cost in the region of £150. Cats Protection does ask a fee of £60 per cat homed which goes towards helping future needy cats, but any extra will be gratefully received.
Very often we have cats that aren't featured as they are not quite ready to rehome, perhaps they are still receiving veterinary treatment, are too young or need just a bit more TLC. If you are thinking at all of getting a cat - please call us on 01643 653053
We would ask that you give serious consideration to adopting an older cat as they can often be with us for prolonged periods. Older cats can be bewildered if they have lost their home after many years, so they are especially appreciative of a loving new home where they can enjoy companionship again. We are very happy to stay in touch and are always here if you wish to contact us.
Some of the cats in our care may not yet be on our website. If you are looking for a feline companion, please contact us on 01643 653 053
