Outdoor Homes Needed for Feral Cats
Northumbria
We regularly help neutered feral cats and kittens find suitable homes, and demand is only growing. With more pregnant feral mums already on our radar, we’re expecting an increase in cats needing safe, outdoor placements in the coming months. If you think you could offer a feral cat a suitable home, we’d love to hear from you.
Feral cats are not house pets – they prefer an independent life outdoors, and are happiest in places like farms, stables, smallholdings, or large gardens where they have shelter, regular food, and the freedom to roam.
What We Provide:
✔️ Neutering
✔️ Flea & worm treatments
✔️ Microchipping or ear-tipping depending on the origin of the cat
✔️ First vaccinations
What We Expect:
A safe environment with:
✅ Shelter from the elements (e.g., stable, shed)
✅ Feeding station with fresh food & water
✅ A quiet place to sleep and hide
✅ A toileting area
There’s no adoption fee, but we do ask for a donation to help cover our costs. It typically costs us over £100 to prepare a feral cat for homing. Caregivers must also commit to providing ongoing food, shelter, and veterinary care when needed.
These cats live independently but are brilliant natural pest controllers. If you can offer a safe outdoor home, please get in touch.
