How to adopt a cat with us

Lake

Essex Cat Centre

Lake is a calm and independent cat who’s happiest enjoying life at her own pace. She appreciates a cosy bed, space to stretch out, food to graze on throughout the day, and the occasional back scratch when she’s in the mood. She isn’t overly demanding—she won’t constantly ask to be picked up or seek attention, making her a great match for someone who values quiet companionship over a high-energy pet.

While her time with us has been challenging for her, Lake has made steady progress and is now in a much more comfortable and settled place. She will be heading to her new home with the support of medication and a special diet, which help her feel her best. Our team will happily talk you through everything you need to know to keep her happy and well.

Lake is looking for a calm, understanding home that will give her the space and consistency she thrives on. In return, she’ll offer gentle company and a peaceful presence.
Please Note: When applying to adopt a cat, our reservation period is a maximum of 7 days from the time of reservation. To be considered, you must be available to meet and adopt the cat(s) within this time frame.
