Formed in 1927, we are now the UK's leading cat welfare charity, with a nationwide network of centres, volunteer-run branches and charity shops. We find suitable homes for thousands of cats each year. We also provide an array of cat care information via our publications, digital channels and National Information Line and we promote the benefits of neutering for a happier pet.
There are many reasons why Cats Protection is a great place to work and we recognise those reasons are important to you too. Working for us is challenging, rewarding and fun. More importantly, you’ll be helping to make a real difference to cats across the UK.
We’re doing all we can to make sure we have happy, healthy and engaged people and to make sure all our workplaces present a COVID-safe environment. This means working for us has a very different look and feel right now. 2020 presented us with unprecedented challenges and we’re very proud of the strength, creativity and resilience shown by our people during this time.
Unless you’re applying to join us in a role based at one of our centres or shops, you’ll initially be working from home. You’ll get to know your manager and colleagues virtually and have your induction with us carried out remotely. We’ll also look after all your equipment needs while at home and your IT equipment will be delivered to your home address prior to your start date. We’re responding to changing lockdown restrictions across the UK and are taking every precaution to keep our cats, volunteers, employees and the public safe.
For roles based at our National Cat Centre, you will currently be working from home. As part of our commitment to agile-working and as lockdown restrictions ease, these roles may be required to work from either the NCC or from home.
Looking for an animal charity job with a difference? Working for Cats Protection is not only about looking after the cats in our care. We have a diverse range of roles providing exciting careers in areas such as retail, fundraising, advocacy, veterinary, digital and IT as well as other support functions. Outside of the current restrictions, many of our roles offer the opportunity to work remotely and flexibly from home.
We could not achieve all that we do without the valued input and support from our wonderful Cats Protection people, numbering some 11,000 volunteers and nearly 1,000 full and part-time employees based all across the UK. Because of this, we’re thrilled you’re considering a role with us to be #YourPurrfectJob
