How to give a cat a home

What is the procedure to give a cat a home?

  • Cat stretchingStep 1) Please email us at homing@croydon.cats.org.uk  or phone/text to 07580 996993 and tell us what sort of cat you are looking for.
  • Step 2) Our Homing Organiser will arrange a convenient day and time for a home visit. This involves one of our volunteers visiting you in your own home to assess its suitability as a cat friendly home.  Our prime concern is that the home is safe e.g. not on a busy main road. It also provides you with an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
  • Step 3) Once your home has been approved you will be invited to view suitable cats for possible adoption.

...or Visit a Homing Show

Our Homing Shows are a very good place to get a first-hand cat viewing.

We hire a local hall and then some of our foster-mums bring along a selection of their cats that are ready for homing. You can view the cats and talk to the fosterers about your requirements and get a better understanding of each cat's personality and its suitability for your home.

Our team of experts are on hand to answer all questions about homing and you can chat over a cup of tea or coffee.

Check our Events Diary for details of the next Homing Show.
