One of Cats Protection’s key aims is neutering. It is the only effective way to reduce the number of unwanted cats in the UK. We also strongly believe that having a companion animal neutered is a responsible part of pet ownership.
To find out more about the benefits of neutering, plus some myths and facts about it, you can download our leaflet, Feline Family Planning.
Manchester and Salford neutering campaign
If you need financial assistance for neutering your pet cat or a stray cat, the branch can offer help towards the cost.
If you receive a state benefit, are on a low household income or are a full time student or pensioner, you should be eligible for this scheme and be able to get your pet or stray cat neutered for just £5.
The campaign covers the following postcode areas:
- M18 – M21
To find out more, call 03000 12 12 12 and select option 2.
Or you go to your nearest vet listed on the map below (zoom in and out and click on the pins for the contact details of the vets).
The campaign only covers the cost of the neutering operation. Any extra costs will need to be covered by the owner.
The campaign also doesn’t cover feral cats. If you have a feral cat, please call the Cats Protection Neutering Helpline directly on 03000 12 12 12 and select option 2, and the adviser will be able to tell you what help we can offer.
If you're not covered by one of the postcodes listed above you can either contact us to find out what schemes are available in your area, or call the neutering helpline on 03000 12 12 12 for more information.
