National Cat Awards - Meet the category judges

Our judges for the following five categories of the National Cat Awards 2019 have been announced - Hero Cat, Most Caring Cat, Purina Better Together, Furr-ever Friends and Cats Protection's Star Team Award.

Furr-ever Friends category
Judge: Tyger Drew-Honey

Tyger Drew-Honey
Actor and filmmaker Tyger Drew-Honey is most notable for his role as Jake in the multi-award winning BBC sitcom Outnumbered, his series of topical and daring BBC documentaries Tyger Takes On, and more recently as Dylan in BBC sitcom Cuckoo. A keen cat lover, Tyger struck up a friendship with his neighbour’s cat called Ziggy and he also opened Cats Protection's Epsom shop in 2014.

Most Caring Cat category
Judge: Josh Dylan

Josh DylanActor Josh played Adam Hunter in feature film Allied with Brad Pitt and also played 'young Bill' in Mamma Mia 2: Here we go again. He will also be playing Jude McGregor in the upcoming BBC drama series Noughts and Crosses. On the stage, Josh won a 2017 Off West End Award for his performance in Sheppy. Josh has three cats, two of whom he got from Cats Protection.

Hero Cat category
Judge: Deborah Meaden
Deborah Meaden

Entrepreneur and businesswoman Deborah Meaden is best known for appearing as an investor on the hit BBC series Dragons’ Den and has also competed on Strictly Come Dancing. Deborah has two cats called Storm and Blade and this is her second time judging at the National Cat Awards.

Purina Better Together 
Presenter: Lucrezia Millarini

Lucrezia Millarini
Lucrezia is a TV presenter who is regularly seen on the ITV Lunchtime and Weekend News as well as the flagship show on ITV News London. As the former entertainment correspondent for ITV London, she has interviewed a long list of celebrities including Rihanna, Stephen Spielberg and Tom Cruise. Lucrezia is very passionate about cat welfare and supports a number of charities including PETA and Humane Society International.

Oustanding Rescue Cat category
Judges: Frankie and David Seaman MBE
Frankie and David Seaman
Professional skater Frankie made her debut in the hit ITV competition Dancing on Ice in 2007 and went on to star in another eight series. Former goalkeeper David played for Leeds, Peterborough, Birmingham City, QPR, Arsenal and Manchester City over a 23-year goalkeeping career with highlights including winning the Premier League three times and starring in England’s run to the semi-finals of the European Championship in 1996.

The pair supported Cats Protection’s Celebrity Paws auction and Frankie volunteers for Cats Protection’s Newbury Adoption Centre, fostering mum cats and kittens.
