You'll have the freedom to choose how to reach your Big Winter Roam distance goal, whether that's a walk every day for a month or a week of intense strolling sessions. However and wherever you choose to wander, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Roam for Cats is a walking challenge open to people of all abilities to take part, including those who may need to rely on a mobility aid when completing some or all of their miles. Through this challenge, you will have the freedom to decide exactly where and when you want to tackle your miles.
Just by signing up, you’re already making a huge difference to the lives of cats. Why not go one step further and get sponsored for your challenge to make an even bigger impact for cats!

Any time! Registrations are open now to Roam for Cats.
You can choose to walk your miles at any time across any number of strolling sessions during 2024. Whatever works for you works for us.
Anywhere! All you need is some appropriate footwear for your walk and to dress for the weather, the rest is up to you.
There are many apps you can use to track your distance, but we recommend Strava. Alternatively, you can map out your route in advance or following your walk and record the distance.
It costs £20 to sign up which includes your exclusive Cats Protection beanie. This money will support our work making a better life for cats. You can also set up a JustGiving page and fundraise for your challenge, meaning your miles will make an even bigger impact on the cats that need our help.
You’ll feel amazing inside and out as you accomplish your Roam for Cats challenge. Not only will this challenge get you strolling in the fresh air, each step you take will be a step towards a better life for cats across the UK.

Without your support, the teams at our centres and branches across the UK simply wouldn’t be able to provide the incredible level of care they do on a daily basis for cats in need of our help.
You can choose any local Cats Protection branch or centre to receive 100% of your registration fee and the funds you raise from your challenge, making life better for the cats in your area.
