As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you
You'll be:
- supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers
- planning fundraising events and activities with your team
- allocating tasks before and during fundraising events
- keeping financial records from fundraising events
- encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection
- following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events
A bit more information about this role and the team
Are you enthusiastic, organised and passionate about inspiring others to raise vital funds for cats in need? We’re looking for a committed Fundraising Team Leader to play a key role in overseeing and developing fundraising activities for Cats Protection Brighton & Hove.
As a member of the Branch Committee, you’ll take the lead in coordinating the branch’s fundraising activity, supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver a varied programme of events and initiatives. You’ll help ensure that fundraising activities are well organised, financially accountable and carried out in line with Cats Protection policies and guidelines.
You’ll also provide regular updates to the Branch Committee, helping to shape fundraising plans and priorities, and will work closely with the Sussex Fundraising Hub to share ideas, access support and make the most of wider fundraising opportunities.
This role would suit someone who is confident taking the lead, coordinating the work of others and bringing enthusiasm and new ideas to fundraising. You’ll need to be comfortable working collaboratively as part of a committee, while also providing guidance and support to your fundraising volunteers.
Your leadership and creativity will help us raise the vital funds needed to care for cats and kittens in Brighton & Hove, covering essential costs such as veterinary treatment, food and welfare support — enabling us to help even more cats in need
Time expectation
Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.
