The difference you will make to cats and people

Our meet & greet volunteers have the enjoyable role of providing a friendly, professional and warm welcome to all cat centre visitors, helping with any queries they might have and signposting to other volunteers and employees if needed. By providing a warm welcome to all visitors, our volunteers play an important role in helping more cats and kittens find their loving forever homes.

A bit more information about this role and the team

A volunteer moving into this role would need to live local to where our cattery is based in Little Lever as this is where we have cats that are looking for their forever homes. This volunteer will be present to welcome members of the public to the cattery to meet cats that they have enquired about rehoming. It will be reactive volunteering when owners book in appointments and so the role may span over a few days and not be at a fixed day and time each week.

The role will require a volunteer to have great people skills as well as the ability to be proactive in finding answers to questions if an adopter asks about a cats situation and the adoption process. There may also be some element of computer work to access systems so a volunteer would need access to the internet and a computer at home.

Full training will be given and travel expenses will be reimbursed.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

Providing a warm and welcoming reception to all cat centre visitors
Signposting visitors to the initial paperwork they’ll need to complete
Passing on queries and requests to other team members as required
Working as part of the team, alongside employees and volunteers

Time expectation

The hours are flexible to fit around your other commitments, with some weekends being a possibility.
