Why ride for Cats Protection?

Right now, more cats than ever need our help. By fundraising and riding with Team Cats, you’ll be helping to provide:

  • protection, care and rehoming for vulnerable cats and kittens
  • veterinary treatment and ongoing support
  • advice and education to help owners keep cats safe and well
  • a future where every cat has the chance to live a happy, healthy life

Every pound you raise, and every mile you ride, makes a real difference.

Where does the route go?

Once you leave the buzz of London behind, you’ll cycle through peaceful country lanes and picturesque towns including Mitcham, Banstead and Haywards Heath.
The highlight (and biggest test!) is Ditchling Beacon, a mile-long climb to the top of the South Downs, rewarded with breath-taking views and a real sense of achievement. From there, it’s a joyful downhill ride all the way to Brighton, where cheers, sea air and your medal awaits.

What is included?

You will receive pre-event stewardship and support, support on the day for yourself as well as mechanical support for your bike, water stops along the fully signposted route and lunch as well as a medal to show completion and a photographer who will be taking pictures throughout the day which you will be able to purchase at the end of the race.

How we’re helping cats in your local area

Supporting your local Cats Protection means helping vulnerable cats in your community get the care, safety and love they deserve. Your support helps keep cats fed, healthy and protected through rehoming, fostering and vital services.
By supporting your local team, you help ensure more cats can stay loved, cared for and in secure homes, even when their owners are facing difficult times.
When signing up you will be able to nominate any local Cats Protection team or centre to receive 100% of the money you raise from your cycle ride, helping the cats and kittens in your chosen area.

What support will I receive from Cats Protection?

When you sign up to ride with Team Cats, you won’t be doing it alone. We’ll support you from the moment you register right through to the finish line in Brighton.
You’ll receive:

  • a dedicated Cats Protection contact to support you along the way
  • fundraising advice, ideas and resources to help you hit your target
  • regular emails with training tips, motivation and event updates
