Who can take part?

Endurotrek challenges are open to anyone who enjoys outdoor adventure and has a reasonable level of fitness. The events welcome both newcomers to endurance trekking and experienced trekkers looking for multi-day challenges.

Age requirements

(A parent/guardian must accompany or consent for under 18s)
• Minimum age: 16 for most challenges
• Some multi-day adult challenges may require participants to be 18+

Fitness level

You don’t need to be an elite athlete, but you should be comfortable walking or trekking long distances over varied terrain
The routes include hills, uneven surfaces, and potentially challenging weather conditions. Prior experience with multi-hour walking or trekking is recommended

Solo or team

Most Endurotrek challenges can be completed solo or as part of a team
Teams may be arranged for corporate or charity events, or for relay-style participation depending on the challenge

Experience

Shorter challenges are suitable for beginners to trekking
Multi-day challenges, such as the Cleveland Way or West Highland Way, are best suited to participants with previous endurance or trekking experience

Equipment

Comfortable trekking boots or trail shoes are essential
Waterproofs, warm layers, and daypacks are recommended for multi-day challenges
Certain events may have compulsory kit lists (for example, map, compass, first aid kit)
Equipment checks may be conducted before or during the event

How we're helping cats across the UK

Cats Protection plays a crucial role in improving the lives of all cats across the country, including the often-overlooked feral cat population. All across the UK, Cats Protection centres and teams are run by small teams of dedicated employees and volunteers. Passionate about improving the lives of cats and kittens in their community, they work to find loving new homes for cats in their care, provide support with neutering, assist with lost and found cats, and raise awareness through education and outreach. Your support will help them continue this vital work.
