River was found abandoned along the River Ouse in Downham Market. Discarded into the undergrowth and trapped in a fabric carrier, a passing family heard him scratching and rushed him to a nearby Cats Protection centre. We checked him over and gave him food and water, then tried hard to find his owner, but with no microchip, the search proved fruitless.
River was understandably nervous to start with, but after just a few days, he became much more confident and affectionate. Now he’s recovered from his ordeal and is living his best life as the latest addition to his new family.
Thankfully, River was found before he came to any serious harm, but if he hadn’t been heard, the situation could have been dire.
