Microchipping
Cats Protection have been urging the government to introduce the compulsory microchipping of pet cats since 2016 and it is finally to become law in England on the 10th June 2024. From this date, it will be mandatory for all pet cats over the age of 20 weeks to be microchipped and owners found not to have microchipped their cat will have 21 days to have one implanted, or could face a fine of up to £500.
So please make the effort to microchip your cat, it only costs a few pounds and it will help if your cat unfortunately goes missing.
