This October we're appreciating black and black and white cats through Cat Sponsorship. Most of the cats in our sponsor pens below represent cats who end up in Cats Protections care for longer just because of the colour of their fur. In 2017 alone, black cats took 13% longer to rehome than cats of any other colour. 27 October is National Black Cat Day a time to recognise the beautiful black cats in our lives and raise awareness of those still waiting for a loving home. Ming
Ming

This is Ming, the latest resident of one of our sponsor pens! Instantly recognisable by her distinctive facial markings, Ming found her way to Cats Protection when her previous owner’s health sadly declined. She is now looking for a home that is just as loving as her old one! She has had an issue with sensitive skin, but fortunately, thanks to the care and attention by the Cats Protection vets, this has since cleared up. Ming is a lovely lady who enjoys indulging in a good head scratch and bundles of attention.

Sabi
Sabi

Meet Sabi, who has been a resident of the Northern Ireland Cat Centre for almost 200 days. She is a distinguished-looking cat looking cat, with her beautiful stripes, slightly frowning face and a mysteriously short tail. She is most most definitely one of a kind. Sabi's life has been a bit turbulent. Sabi was previously in the care of Cats Protection as a young kitten and was involved in a road traffic accident several years ago. Thankfully Sabi made a full recovery from this but once again she has found herself without a home. Sabi is a very playful cat. She she zooms around her pen every morning after her breakfast and after a burst of excitement she relaxes for a long nap. Sabi is smart and inquisitive, and she would really benefit from a home with safe outdoor access. Sabi enjoys affection on her own terms so would be best suited to household that will understand her body language and give her space and time when she needs it. Although the team at the centre all adore Sabi, they would love nothing more than to see her find a family of her own and finally be able to settle down.

Lark
Lark

Lark is a two-year-old cat that has recently become a new mum! She arrived at the centre heavily pregnant and gave birth very quickly afterwards, to three healthy babies. Lark has settled into her new motherhood role well. She can initially be wary of new people. However, despite only being in the centre for a short period of time, she has been developing trust quickly with those who care for her and showing that she is a very affectionate young girl. Lark will surely be a treasured addition to any household.

Peaches
Peaches

Charming Peaches came into the care of Cats Protection due to an allergy in the home. She had been an indoor cat until she came to us, and now having been neutered, she would love to be able to go out into a garden for the first time and enjoy the sunshine. Peaches is a friendly cat, but she would prefer to be the only pet in the home. She is very interactive and can enjoy a fuss for a short period before needing a little break. This lovely girl is a delight, and we hope she will find a home soon.

Trevor
Trevor

Sweet Trevor is a friendly boy who loves lots of fuss and attention. He came to Devon Cat Centre as an unneutered stray with an eye injury, which sadly meant his eye needed to be removed. Because he was a stray we have no history for Trevor. Therefore, we feel he would suit a home in which he was the only pet with older, cat-aware children who will approach him calmly. Trevor likes to be brushed and would love access to a safe outdoor space to explore away from busy roads.

Dottie
Dottie

Lovely Dottie came into Cats Protection care when her owner became too unwell to look after her. She is a sweet and friendly girl who loves to cuddle up on your lap. Dottie has lived with a small dog before but not with other cats or children. Therefore, she would most likely prefer to be the only pet in a household. She was admitted with fur loss, which the vet suspected was a flea allergy. After treatment, Dottie's fur is growing back nicely. As she is a domestic longhair, Dottie will need regular grooming once her fur becomes long and fluffy again.

  • regular email updates about how your cat is getting on, when they find a new home and new arrivals to your pen (if you opt in to receiving these)
