Cracking result at the Easter Fayre
REGIONAL Gosport Town
03 April 2017
It was an egg-cellent Easter Fayre for Gosport CP on Saturday 1 April at Marys Parish Centre, Alverstoke.
Doors opened early as there was a long queue outside with people keen to get inside and start shopping. Two of the visitors had come all the way from Wales – chatting to Ceri & Gordon Pugh from Abergavenny, the couple say they’ve been coming to the Easter and Christmas Fayres for years and they make a weekend of it catching up with friends. Not only do these super supporters travel from South Wales, they bring donations of puzzles and then buy more puzzles as well as other purchases from the sales tables.
There was definitely a spring feel to the fayre with many visitors walking round with bunches of pretty daffodils they’d bought at the fayre and also people happily clutching Easter Eggs they’d won in the Easter Egg tombola, which is always popular. Gosport CP receives some fabulous donated goods and it’s great to have quality items for sale all to boost funds for the charity. With a range of boxed toiletry sets, boxed games, some gorgeous hand-made crafty bits, quality china, cakes, CP goods and a myriad of lovely things, there was something for everyone.
Owners helped by the charity told us about their cats and how special they are and it’s always lovely to hear that volunteers efforts are appreciated.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the fayre the great success it was and achieving an incredible £1038.78 for the charity to help cats.
