Successful appeal for Bridgend kittens
18 August 2016
Last week saw the sad story of a group of neglected kittens, currently in the care of Bridgend Adoption Centre.
The kittens were rescued from a property whose elderly residents were too ill to care for them, and reached the Adoption Centre in terrible conditions.
Since its launch on Friday, the JustGiving page for the Bridgend kittens appeal has now raised the grand total of £4407.38, exceeding the branch’s £1000 target to pay for the kitten’s costly treatment. The total is still increasing, and donations have been sent from as far afield as India and the USA.
One of the kittens, a tortoiseshell cat named Violet, deteriorated rapidly and sadly, died over the weekend. Two of the ginger kittens, named Victor and Vernon, improved in health and have since been released from the veterinary practice they were being treated in.
It is hope that these kittens soon will be well enough to be rehomed from the Adoption Centre, and this is only possible with the fantastic support received from kind donations.
