Help Cats Protection Save Gorgeous Greg

06 June 2017
Help Cats Protection Save Gorgeous Greg Gorgeous Greg came into the care of Exeter Axhayes Adoption Centre after being discovered as a stray.

Found in a terrible condition, he was suspected to be suffering from a simple cold and prescribed flu medication. With a lack of appetite and his health not improving, he was then given a foster home in the hope that it would help him recover more quickly.

Four months on and several tests later, Greg has been diagnosed with a Portosytemic Shunt. This means that the liver isn’t working to its full capacity and, as a result, can have detrimental effects on the body and brain. This is a life-threatening condition that, without intervention, will eventually lead to Greg having a short and unhappy life.

As a result, Greg was taken into surgery last week to redirect the blood to get his liver working efficiently. He is now recovering in an Intensive Care Unit and there is hope that he will bounce back to become an energetic and loveable cat that would make a great companion for someone.

Exeter Axhayes Adoption Centre is raising funds to help cover the cost of Greg’s surgery. Having raised nearly £2,000 online, they’re eager to boost their donations to reach their target of £2,500. Any additional donations will be used to help the cats in the centre’s care.

If you’d like to make a donation for Gorgeous Greg’s surgery, please visit the donation page at or text GGLS50 followed by the amount £X to 70070.
